I think the differences are spar spacing for the tailwind is 25”, 24” for cougar, gear, wittman’s patent was in full swing, trim on a cougar is cub style, sloppy ones known to flutter. It will easily fly at 170 at 3100 i have almost 300. For some reason i have been drawn to the w10 tailwind, but i have a question. My recollection is that he built around 11 tailwinds. I did a normal rebuild with all new technology stuff. The original wing construction is built up wing with ply wood skins. The tailwind was designed for speed! i just think it is one of the best looking high wing monoplanes you can build, but would prefer to fly something a little slower and in the lsa.

If the distance between spars differed between the tailwind and cougar, how were the attachments adapted on your frankenstein? I am now 86 and have donated the project.
